South Africa is one of the few countries in the world where you can see white sharks up close during organised cage-dive trips.
From the town called Gansbaai several companies go out on the oceaan every day, where around Dyer Island they try to lure to sharks close to the boat with pieces of fish.
The surrounding of this island is a marine reserve with lots of animals including whales.
From a cage that is mostly under water, but also from the boat you can see the white sharks very close by.
As white sharks are scared of bubbles no oxygentanks are being used, so experience in diving is not necessary.
The crew is trained in first aid just in case....
I have made three of these trips with White Shark Ecoventures, and it was an impressive experience every time!
